New Year , New You?
We've finally got round to up dating the news... Christmas was a hectic time for us as we're sure it was for you. We hope you're sticking to those new year resolutions and eating more healthy organic fruit and vegetables. We've changed some things around on the site, so please take some time to have a look around and see the new products we have to offer.
Christmas was an exciting holiday for us as we used the week's break to move to our new farm. We are now farming near Longframlington which is between Alnwick and Morpeth. This is great news for you too as we now own the land so we can do all those things we could not risk on the rented farm. So lots of fruit tree planting, ploughing and hedge laying coming up. This will enable us to invest in the more exotic fruit and vegetables- we have plans for a huge asparagus bed, lots of pumpkins and various fruit bushes. We have lots of work ahead of us on the farm and have drafted in the help of Sue and Steve who will be handling the deliveries in the Hexham and Newcastle areas respectively. This will hopefully free up Beth and I to work on the planting and production side of things along with our right hand man, John the gardener. If you have any questions about the new farm please get in touch. We hope to add a blog page to the site to keep you in touch with the daily happenings 'on the farm'. The new farm is under organic conversion and will have completed the organic conversion period by the end of summer. Any products that are grown 'in conversion to organic standards' will be marked as such. We have some of our animals with us on the farm but have moved others to friends organic farms in the area to make sure we have a constant supply of 100% organic meat. We have also asked the help of our friend Steve Ramshaw who will be butchering our animals for the next 2 months until our butchery is up and running again. We hope you can get out to see us at one of our events, and take the opportunity to see how your food is being produced, but for now wellies are the order of the day. We are considering building a raft for the pigs it is so wet!
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers for their support over the past 2 years, we hope to build a farm that is as much for you as for us,
Lee and Beth X
